Dear Kitesurfer,
In the following, we would like to ask you some questions about injuries in kitesurfing. The survey is anonymous, and it is not possible to trace it back to your identity. To obtain the most realistic assessment of injury frequency, it is extremely important that you participate in this survey even if you have NEVER been injured while kitesurfing. It is also crucial for the analysis of this study that you complete the questionnaire until the end. So, please take the time to help us improve medical care in our beloved sport.
Who are we?
We are Surfmedizin e.V., a non-profit organization composed of doctors and physiotherapists, most of whom are watersports enthusiasts. Our goal is to improve the medical care for kitesurfers. In the first step, it is essential to scientifically document injury patterns to develop corresponding care and prevention models.
Objective:
In this study, we are investigating the worldwide relationships between:
The practice of the sport of kitesurfing and potentially typical injuries associated with it.
The various kite disciplines/environmental conditions and the probable injury patterns and downtime associated with them.
Benefits:
By participating, you contribute to gaining new insights into kitesurfing, assessing the risk of injuries, potentially avoiding future injuries, and making the sport safer while improving the medical care for kitesurfers. Answering the questionnaire takes approximately 15 minutes, and participation in the study is entirely voluntary.
Instructions: Please answer each question. Decide as spontaneously as possible. There are no right or wrong answers; the only thing that matters is your personal assessment.
Data Privacy: The questionnaire is answered anonymously, and no personally identifiable data is collected. Therefore, your responses cannot be linked to your identity. The anonymized data will be stored on a hard drive for at least ten years after the project's end, and no third parties will have access to it. The data will be analyzed using statistical methods. The results will be published only in a summarized form, ensuring that no individual data can be inferred.
Consent: By starting the survey, you confirm that you have read and understood the data protection information and that you consent to the anonymous storage and processing of your information, as well as the publication of the results in a summarized form. Due to anonymous storage, there is no option to revoke your responses after the fact.
